What is root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment is removal of the nerve from within the tooth. A person usually needs a root canal when they have a tooth abscess, decay that has reached the nerve and causing pain, a necrotic (dead) tooth, or nerve irritation. The process of root canal is to drill the center of the tooth in order to access the nerve chamber of the tooth. Then we use titanium files in order to access the entire root, in order to remove the nerve from every canal and seal properly. After root canal treatment, it is highly reccomended to cover the tooth with a crown in order to aviod fracture of the tooth in the long run because teeth become brittle over time after root canal procedure.

When the pulp is removed and the roots are sealed, there is no more nutrients being delivered to the tooth and the tooth may change color over time.

A root canal treament is taking the nerve out of the tooth. A root canal treatment is needed if there is an infection of the tooth, tooth pain, or if the tooth is broken down and there is a need for a post placement inside the root to restore the tooth with a crown.

A root canal treatment is also to take the nerve out with titanium hand files or rotary files, cleaning the inside of the room thoroughly and sealing the inside of the tooth.
