1. How long will I be numb after root canal treatment?
It is not always necessary to do root canal treatments with anesthetic. When anesthetic is used the period you are numb depends on how much anesthetic and what brand was used. A normal time would be 1-2 hours.
2. Will I be able to return to work after root canal treatment?
Most people would (or could) return to work immediately after the treatment is completed.
3. What will my tooth look like after treatment?
Root canal treatments are done internally. The external (outside) will look the same as it did before the treatment was begun. The dentist might make it look even better with a temporary or permanent restoration.
4. What if it happens again?
If the root canal treatment is not successful and the tooth is again causing symptoms, your dentist can help you make the decision to re-treat the root canal or choose other options.
5. Where can this treatment be carried out.
Root canal treatments are routine procedures that most general dentists and specialists called endodontists perform in their dental offices.
6. What about aftercare?
Aftercare would include a permanent restoration over the entry into the tooth where the root canal was performed. And further recommended treatment could include full coverage restorations to protect the tooth and the investment you have made to save it and have it function properly.
